For the most part, J spends a lot of his time in the background, drinking Enetron and supporting Jin in whatever he's doing, as well as cultivating a quasi-romantic relationship with Yoko, aka Yellow Buster. Throughout the series, he also has incited a Buddyroid Strike, has supported the other Go-Busters in their attack on Hyperspace, as well as been decorated in drag, and demanded the delicious enetron cotton candy. He also keeps a pet Beetle which is used in a late-episode when Enter displays the power to combine biological items with mechanical items in order to create a new breed of metaroid.

Around the middle of the show, while Jin is acting completely off the wall, J informs the team that Jin is hiding his sadness behind acting like a lunatic. And that J is always supporting Jin no matter what he does.

A later episode of Go-Busters has J detecting the remaining digitized body of Jin in a Messiah Card, and he seeks to reclaim it for Jin. He claims he wants Jin to experience the world again with his own body, despite going so many lengths to retrieve it, including fighting the Go-Busters as well as protecting the Metaroid that the card is fused with and pointing a gun at Jin to make him stop.

Currently the series of Go-Busters hasn't finished airing, and there is also a team up movie with the previous years Go-Busters VS. Gokaiger which has even yet to exit theatres. More will be added to the series later during that time.

Personality:
J is an egotist, and damn good one at that. He sports an all-about-me personality that leads him into excess and his own direction on how to fulfill his duties. Addicted to Enetron like an old drunkard, he will go many lengths to obtain it. However he is not above asking for his drink as he is clearly aware that he needs Enetron to function on a base level. Encouraged by Jin on his actions, J makes no effort to disguise the fact that he is all about himself, but he also cares for everyone on a distinct level.

His interests tend to involve the simple things in life, such as the changing of the weather, Enetron of course, stag beetles which he keeps one as a pet, Yoko in a strangely non-parental way but a clear romantic interest which Yoko seems to reciprocate on a subtle level, tree sap which is apparently delicious and sweet for him, and he loves to throw himself into battle at any given moment when it suits his purposes.

He has a standoffish relationship to the other Buddyroids who are technically not as combat worthy as he is in his stripped down Ranger form, but the other Buddyroids look towards him for the independent answer, considering that his responses can never be measured in actual validity or prediction. Any chance of getting J not to do what he wants to do is slim to none, unless he decides voluntarily that he's going to do what you ask him to do.

Oddly enough, he seems to have a vested romantic interest in Yoko, which defines a lot of his actions towards the young girl. While Jin views Yoko as more of a child in a parental manner, J tends to be relied on by Yoko, moving between the line of romance and friendship. He is always the first one to support Yoko if he can, and will literally throw himself into the path of things that will hurt her, even going so far as to impulsively transform to defend her honor. This interaction has affected J a lot throughout the series, and has given him a reason to remain loyal to the group since he seems to be even more of a loose cannon than Jin can be.

One thing that surprises everyone is how deeply touching J can be at times. He is incredibly loyal to his friends despite his stand offish gestures and personality, and while he projects the outward view of a jerk and a very terrible, if passable team player, J cares deeply for everyone around him. He views the others as his family, Yoko a potential interest, Jin his best friend and creator, and is loyal to the death. He doesn't fear death or deactivation and will say something incredibly wise at times that will shock and surprise people.


Other: Beet J Stag is a buddyroid, a robot designed for the assistance of a Go-Buster in their duties. Equipped and inoculated with a antivirus program that allows them to combat the Vagaras on their own terms, J is also one of the first Combat-ready Buddyroids. His outside shell is that of a bulky beetle-themed armor in silver, black and gold and he tends to remain in this form for quite some time. However using the Morphin Blaster, he is able to transform, ie strip down his bulky extra armor, and become Stag Buster, a silver and blue armored warrior. These parts also make up portions of Jin's armor as well, turning him into Beet Buster.

There is a non-canon special that is referred to in Jin's application, where Enter infects him with a virus and uses the power to transform into a Enter-themed Beet Buster as well. J in this form is out of control, as well as internally very much a super-egotist. This moment will probably be adapted for a later moment in DDD.

J also works as a marker system, able to project Jin's avatar from hyperspace. In the same regard, he is also able to detect Jin's data from a certain distance when it comes into an active state.

First Person:
Do you have a motto? If so, why would you consider that to be your motto? If not, is there a reason that you don't have one? What is it?
I usually do not care for mottos, they make people slow down in the heat of combat. Some may think that "Busters Ready? Go!" is a motto but I personally believe it is more of a statement that takes valuable time beating up Vaglass. Perhaps if I do have a motto however, it is "There is always room for Enetron."

Do you believe in fate? Why or why not?
There is no fate, only possibility. We decide our own fate, and Beet J Stag decides Beet J Stag's own possibilities. And that is--oh wait, hold on. Enetron break.

One of your greatest secrets has just been exposed to the people close to you. What do you do?
I would hand Yoko flowers and ask her to marry me. [A beat] What, it is the only secret I have and it is too apparent. I assume everyone knows of my care for her. And I would only make the best marriage candidate for her.

What would you like to be remembered for after your death?
I would like, when my functions run out, to be bronzed and stood in front of the Enetron Management Center. In front of a statue of Jin.

If you had the chance to change any one thing about yourself, would you take it? What would you change?
I would change... not the flaws, but improve on the flaws. For a perfect anything is impossible, as well as idiotic. I am not or will be anyone's servant. I am Beet J Stag, and I will follow my own path, while protecting those who I care for.

How do you feel about your hometown? What do you think the people there would say about you?
I love my hometown. I may have not lived here all my life, but the changing seasons, the world around me, the stag beetle I call a friend... all of it, I want Jin to experience this. People would assume only the best about me. For there is nothing I cannot do.

You're faced with a crisis of faith. What pulls you back to solidify your beliefs and find strength in them again?
Jin would hit me. Repeatedly. Over the head and kick me in the chest. That is how you show true faith in one another in a crisis.

Do you have any dreams or ambitions? How do you intend to achieve them?
I want to see Jin back in the real world, safe and sound. I will fight, and blow Enter to smithereens and take that Messiah Card back from him!

You're at the scene of a robbery, but you manage to get the upper hand; you're holding the gun. The robber is at your mercy. What do you do?
First I will tie him up with a lamppost. Next, I will inform the police. And hope for a chance to play good cop bad buddyroid.

You have tickets to your favorite band's concert tonight, but your best friend asks you for an urgent favor that would make you miss it. Which one do you choose and why?
I will hand the tickets to Bike and his group, and I will go and help. Because while I do things on my own pace, I will do them for my friends as well.

Third Person:
Beet J Stag was on a mission. Armed with a large bug-catcher net, he was tromping around in the woods that day, doing his own thing. Humming to himself in an off-tune notation, he paused at a huge tree and started to feel around it carefully. After a long moment, he proclaimed, "This tree...! It's sap must be so delicious!"

Wondering if he should take a bite of it, he noticed something -- his quarry! 'There it is... target spotted...!'

Raising his net, he swung it down with gusto with a cry of "Got you!"

For a long moment, he wondered if he got it, but then looked over at the net. A puzzled expression came over the buddyroids face. "How strange, I did not catch it. No matter. Stag Beetle, you will be my friend and pet today!"

And with that he dropped to the ground, looking for the bug. 'I will find this pet, and raise him well. He will learn all the fighting styles from me. The mantis. The tiger. The buddyroid.' A 'smile' appeared on J's face as he continued to search. 'I will name him... Stag Beetle.'

After a half hour passed, J sat down and cracked open a can of enetron. Doing this was thirsty work and he wanted to drink. While he knocked back the can, he reflected on the changing weather. It would be fall soon, and Jin was no closer to finding his data and returning from hyperspace. He sighed a little, placing his can down onto his leg. Maybe they should focus on the rest of the metaroids later on.

Just then, he noticed a stag beetle had landed on his can, and he nodded. "So you admit defeat, stag beetle. Very well!"

Carefully picking it up, he placed it into his cage, and held it up. "You are now my friend."

This day was looking up to be honest. He had made a new friend, the enetron was sweet, and with a loud hiccup, he started back into the city. No doubt Jin was planning something big again, and he wanted to be a part of it.
